How StockX Co-founder Josh Luber Turned His Childhood Love of Sneakers into a Billion-Dollar Company

Tesla & General Motors: These two U.S. automakers were the only two companies that maxed their quota under the last EV tax plan. When the companies built 200,000 cars, the rebates would no longer be available to new buyers. This bill pledges to change the quota, but to what extent is uncertain. Regardless, $TSLA and $GM are already arguably the two most popular EV producers. They stand to benefit the most.

Chargepoint: $CHPT is one of the oldest EV companies and has already jumped over 38% on the news around the infrastructure plan. The company boasts over 114,700 charging locations globally.

Volkswagen: $VWAGY plans to begin mass-producing electric vehicles next year. Whilst they’re not as technically competitive as $TSLA, they are still the biggest automaker in the world. The company owns Audi, Bugatti, Bentley, and others. They’re also owned by Porsche, which trades at a slight discount as $POAHY.

BMW: $BWMYY is another European automaker throwing their energy behind EVs. The company boasts an EV version of their MINI, a compact sedan called the BMW i3, and an electric SUV called the X3.

FuboTV’s CEO on How Sports Betting Will Change Streaming | Voices of Wall Street

This week is the first “big” week of earnings season for Q4 2020. Some of the most influential companies in the U.S. are reporting earnings this week. The week started off with strong earnings in companies like $MSFT and $AMD, which both beat Wall Street analyst estimates. However, Wednesday will arguably be an even bigger day when tech heavyweights Apple, Facebook, and Tesla report earnings for the last quarter of the year

$AAPL is anticipated to report their first “$100 billion revenue” quarter tomorrow. They will be one of just a handful of companies to ever exceed this mind boggling number in revenue. $AAPL is up 10.6% so far in 2021.

$FB has been lost in a crossfire of rhetoric around the power of social media companies after they joined other social giants in deciding to ban Donald Trump and other conservative personalities from their platform. Facebook has faced boycotts and pushback throughout 2021 because of perceived censorship, mistreatment of political discourse, and an ad boycott early in the year. $FB is up 4.7% so far in 2021.

$TSLA might be the least mysterious of these three big earnings calls. Elon Musk reported that Tesla nearly beat their FY 2020 estimate for deliveries, leaving little to the imagination for what a possible earnings call could look like. However, whether investors will accept Musk’s latest offering is untold. $TSLA has gone on a 21% run so far in 2021.

What to Expect from Apple, Facebook and Tesla Earnings Reports This Week

Online lender Upstart Holdings, which uses education and employment instead of credit score for loans, nearly doubled today after announcing its acquisition of a leading automotive retail software player Prodigy Software. This acquisition will allow them to expand into automobile loans. $UPST rose 89.3% today. 

William-Sonoma has become the latest retailer to get a boost from e-commerce and online shopping. In the company’s Q4 earnings report, comparable brand revenue growth jumped 26%. Online shopping growth rose over 50%, helping the company beat Wall Street estimates. $WSM rose nearly 19%. 

Remember Google Glass? A quaint tech company called Vuzix is making them, but better -- and they popped 8.5% today thanks to recent earnings. $VUZI creates smart glasses for enterprise use in insurance, manufacturing, healthcare and security-facing companies. The company has run up over 181% since the start of 2021, bucking the broader trend with tech.

E-COMMERCE STOCKS RIP AS TECH SLIDES ON DOWN DAY

Mortgage company Rocket Companies exploded over 73% today. Much like GameStop and AMC, $RKT was a heavily shorted stock. But when push came to shove, the bulls pushed the shorts in front of a train, starting a giant short squeeze. This momentum comes on the heels of the company declaring a special dividend after a blowout quarter. Each shareholder of $RKT on March 9 will receive $1.11 per share for the dividend. 

Speaking of rockets, space launch company Rocket Lab is going public through the Vector Acquisition SPAC in a $4 billion deal. The company has already launched nearly 100 satellites into orbit around Earth and has commitments to do missions to the Moon, Venus, and Mars. The company will build a new rocket with a reusable first stage from the proceeds generated from the SPAC. They are also looking to make a move into bigger government contracts & commercial satellite launches launched by SpaceX and ULA. The company $VACQ popped 26% on the news of the merger. 

Online marketing & couponing site Groupon flamed all the bears and doubters on their Q4 earnings call. The company reported nearly twice as much in profit as was expected by analysts, sending the stock rising 32% since the close on Friday. Given the robust earnings beat, some analysts were made to reevaluate their positions on the stock. UBS, J.P. Morgan, and Credit Suisse all raised their price targets for $GRPN.

SPACS TO THE MOON - LITERALLY

Hims and Hers Health, the telemedicine company best-known for its cheeky advertisements about its sexual health treatments, is determined to be a major player in the $4 trillion U.S. healthcare industry. 

Andrew Dudum, co-founder and CEO of Hims and Hers Health, spoke with "Voices of Wall Street" about the successful SPAC that brought the company to the public markets, the next wave of growth beyond ED medication, the future of telemedicine, competition with Teledoc and Roman, the inefficiencies with the current healthcare system, and his outlook for healthcare under President Biden.

Hims and Hers CEO on Growth Beyond Sex Medication

Tesla announced the company will deliver 30-40% more vehicles from last year. Elon Musk also promised a $25,000 self-driving car by 2023. Tesla's market cap is now over 380 billion making it more than Ford, GM, and Toyota combined.

Markets have been fighting to stay in the green over the last few days given concerns about interest rates and the broader market. This has made for very few Rippers as stocks have remained suppressed:

⏰ Today’s biggest Ripper is American watchmaker Movado. The company radically exceeded the Q4 earnings, delivering nearly double the expected earnings per share than was estimated. This came even as revenue dipped for the company. The surprise caused $MOV to rise 18.6% today.



Markets have been fighting to stay in the green over the last few days.

Industries battered by COVID-19 have had the biggest gains on Monday and Tuesday after clarity emerged in the presidential election and $PFE vaccine data. Shares of travel companies saw some of the biggest jumps. The travel and tourism tech ETF $AWAY and U.S. airline ETF $JETS both jumped over 10% since the opening bell rang Monday morning.

REITs were also among the biggest benefactors from the positive vaccine and election outlook. Shares of the iShares Global REIT ETF, which invests in a large variety of international real estate companies, jumped 8.2%. $REET was joined by the monolithic Vanguard Real Estate ETF, $VNQ, which jumped over 5%. REITs have been hammered amidst COVID-19 because of concerns about repayment and investment stability. Both ETFs fell over 36% from December 2019 to March 2020 amidst the fallout from the pandemic.

Two financial service companies jumped onto our Rippers list today on the heels of their Q3 earnings reports. Money transfer company Moneygram jumped 10.4% after it reported revenue growth. Over the last few years, $MGI has been advancing a digital-first transformation of its international business. It was joined by Nelnet, a student loan servicer, which has been diversifying into banking and other financial services. Canadian pharmaceutical company Tilray jumped over 40% today after announcing it had secured a deal to import and distribute medical cannabis in the United Kingdom. The partnership with Grow Pharma will allow $TLRY to foray into a completely new geography.

Other marijuana players got a boost from Tilray’s blockbuster deal, including Aphria and OrganiGram Holdings. $APHA jumped 25%, OrganiGram jumped 32.4%, and major cannabis ETF $MJ jumped 13.4% today.

One of the most prominent “momentum” plays to come out of the Wall Street Bets community since the $GME short squeeze is a lesser-known cannabis producer named Sundial Growers. The Canadian grower has an attractive price-to-sale ratio. $SNDL was at risk of being delisted from the Nasdaq Exchange after falling below $1 back in March last year. However, just since the start of the year, the company has run up 200% after being elevated by chatter on the reddit forum.
