Industries battered by COVID-19 have had the biggest gains on Monday and Tuesday after clarity emerged in the presidential election and $PFE vaccine data. Shares of travel companies saw some of the biggest jumps. The travel and tourism tech ETF $AWAY and U.S. airline ETF $JETS both jumped over 10% since the opening bell rang Monday morning.

REITs were also among the biggest benefactors from the positive vaccine and election outlook. Shares of the iShares Global REIT ETF, which invests in a large variety of international real estate companies, jumped 8.2%. $REET was joined by the monolithic Vanguard Real Estate ETF, $VNQ, which jumped over 5%. REITs have been hammered amidst COVID-19 because of concerns about repayment and investment stability. Both ETFs fell over 36% from December 2019 to March 2020 amidst the fallout from the pandemic.

Two financial service companies jumped onto our Rippers list today on the heels of their Q3 earnings reports. Money transfer company Moneygram jumped 10.4% after it reported revenue growth. Over the last few years, $MGI has been advancing a digital-first transformation of its international business. It was joined by Nelnet, a student loan servicer, which has been diversifying into banking and other financial services. The bulk of $NNI revenue growth in Q3 came from “asset generation” on derivatives.

A treasury bond ETF like $GOVT or $ICSH might be a good store of value for the near-term. Treasuries are extremely low risk, low reward. They’re a good place to put your money. A more exciting, albeit slightly more risky, alternative to a treasury bond is corporate bonds. Corporate bonds like $VTC or $VCSH might be a solid store of value.

Silver & gold! And no, we’re not talking about the Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer Christmas song — we’re talking about $GLD and $SLV . These are two ways to gain exposure to a trust holding precious metals. Commodities are generally solid stores of value during times of uncertainty and turbulence.

If commodities or treasuries aren’t doing it for you, one more alternative is to invest some of your money in emerging or international markets. If you haven’t invested in international companies (or an ETF or fund tracking them), then you might be missing out on greater growth. International market funds invest in industrialized countries like the U.K and Canada and have favorable risk profiles (see $IDV or $IDEV for ideas). Another risky alternative is investing in emerging markets like Brazil, South Africa and China (see $SCHE or $EEM ).

This week, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy signed three bills into law, officially legalizing recreational cannabis sales, as well as enacting criminal justice reform. After a long delay, the Garden State has finally gone green.

In a new "Voices of Wall Street," host Hope King speaks with Andrew Freedman, Hedgeye's Communications Sector Head, about his bear case for fuboTV.

fuboTV, along with many investors, is optimistic about the opportunity in streaming subscriptions, connected TV advertising, and sports betting. However, Freedman says the company has a small probability of surviving due to the "structurally unprofitable, broken" business model. 

Freedman adds that fuboTV is expanding into sports betting because it knows the streaming business is unsustainable as a standalone unit, but argues the costs of launching a sportsbook will be difficult to manage. Freedman admits there are two paths for fuboTV to achieve long-term success, and lays out the scenarios for fuboTV to emerge as a winner in the streaming wars.

What Is NBA Top Shot and Will Their NFTs Make You Rich!? | Money Drama

Mortgage company Rocket Companies exploded over 73% today. Much like GameStop and AMC, $RKT was a heavily shorted stock. But when push came to shove, the bulls pushed the shorts in front of a train, starting a giant short squeeze. This momentum comes on the heels of the company declaring a special dividend after a blowout quarter. Each shareholder of $RKT on March 9 will receive $1.11 per share for the dividend. 

Speaking of rockets, space launch company Rocket Lab is going public through the Vector Acquisition SPAC in a $4 billion deal. The company has already launched nearly 100 satellites into orbit around Earth and has commitments to do missions to the Moon, Venus, and Mars. The company will build a new rocket with a reusable first stage from the proceeds generated from the SPAC. They are also looking to make a move into bigger government contracts & commercial satellite launches launched by SpaceX and ULA. The company $VACQ popped 26% on the news of the merger. 

Online marketing & couponing site Groupon flamed all the bears and doubters on their Q4 earnings call. The company reported nearly twice as much in profit as was expected by analysts, sending the stock rising 32% since the close on Friday. Given the robust earnings beat, some analysts were made to reevaluate their positions on the stock. UBS, J.P. Morgan, and Credit Suisse all raised their price targets for $GRPN.
