<html><body>There are hundreds of IPOs every year, but only a small amount of them capture the public’s attention. 2021 has already seen the big players go public such as Bumble, Coupang, and ROBLOX. However, 2021 might be upgrading with one of the biggest IPOs in modern history: the direct listing of cryptocurrency company Coinbase.Coinbase’s come-to-market moment is a monumental one for the cryptocurrency space. <a href="https://www.etftrends.com/crypto-channel/bitcoin-continues-to-build-institutional-support/">Institutional support for crypto has been rising</a>, which is <a href="https://www.financemagnates.com/cryptocurrency/news/bitcoin-etf-filings-continue-as-skybridge-capital-applies-with-the-sec/">evident in the massing wall of Bitcoin ETF filings</a> and <a href="https://fortune.com/2021/04/13/forget-stocks-all-the-action-is-in-crypto/">interest from Fortune 500 companies</a>. The cryptocurrency market has been the object of criticism by Wall Street for years, who have ascribed cryptos such as Bitcoin and Ethereum as “having no value.” But Coinbase’s valuation is very real. <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-03-08/coinbase-is-said-to-be-valued-at-90-billion-in-private-auction">Shares of Coinbase on Nasdaq Private Market are trading at valuations varying from $90 to $100 billion</a>. There’s a lot of things influencing that astronomical valuation, but here’s a few things you should know:1. Coinbase knocked it out of the parks in Q1 earningsJust days before their direct listing, <a href="https://investor.coinbase.com/news/news-details/2021/Coinbase-Announces-First-Quarter-2021-Estimated-Results-and-Full-Year-2021-Outlook/default.aspx">Coinbase announced their first quarter 2021 earnings and reiterated their outlook for the year</a>. The company announced they had 56 million verified users, over $223 billion in assets on the platform and revenues of nearly $2 billion. When you work all those numbers out, the company walked away with approximately $730 to $800 million in net income in just the first quarter of 2021.Coinbase makes nearly all their money from transactions on their consumer and Coinbase Pro product. In each transaction, they levy a fee on the end-user: either a set amount or a percentage of the trade. 2021 has seen unprecedented retail interest in crypto, which is why Coinbase is making more money now. However, they observe that transaction numbers (their revenue-driver) are likely to drop off if the crypto bull run gets into some trouble in the months ahead.If there’s one thing you should know though, it’s that Coinbase’s Q1 earnings are better than their entire FY 2020 earnings. Seriously.2. After COVID, crypto is kingIn light of the COVID stimulus packages throughout the past year, people are revisiting crypto’s potential as “a new money” — a potential alternative to FIAT currencies like the dollar. The government printed trillions of dollars to shore up the economy (and the stock market). And many are concerned about what that could mean. <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/us-inflation-consumer-price-index-march-2021-11618273541">Inflation accelerated as the economy started to recover</a> in March of this year. Whether that trend will stick will be known in the months ahead as the economy reopens, but some crypto maximalists aren’t waiting for a sign. Binance CEO Changpen Zhao <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2021-04-07/binance-ceo-changpeng-zhao-says-i-just-want-to-keep-crypto">told Bloomberg</a> that he “just want[s] to keep crypto.”While weakening currencies definitely are bullish for crypto, it’s very unlikely that the dollar will collapse like your weird libertarian uncle keeps suggesting. However, cryptocurrency has been appreciating since the stimulus packages were passed. Maybe that’s just a coincidence, but it’s <a href="https://www.google.com/search?q=bitcoin">hard to argue with the five-fold returns in Bitcoin and Ethereum</a>. But don’t mistake those returns for the potential upside in the Coinbase IPO. After all, they are just an intermediary for accessing the market.3. Coinbase’s IPO is a catalyst for the crypto marketAvid crypto traders might have noticed crypto prices moved upward aggressively in the week leading up to the Coinbase IPO. Bitcoin and Ethereum rose nearly 9%. Other DeFi tokens and altcoins tended in the double-digits. The reason why is simple: the Coinbase IPO will test equity traders’ appetite for crypto.Since Coinbase’s IPO is a direct listing, the valuation is set by existing shareholders. This means that Coinbase’s valuation out of the gate could be anything. It’s very likely that crypto markets will move optimistically  if the stock is well-received and the demand accommodates the price. However, we might see crypto markets fall if the opposite happens and Wall Street rejects crypto.4. Direct listings can be volatile, retail beware.On Jan. 29, Coinbase was worth $54 billion. Going into the direct listing, Coinbase was believed to be valued at nearly $100 billion in Nasdaq Private Market. Despite that perceived valuation, <a href="https://www.reuters.com/article/us-coinbase-global-ipo-idUSKBN2C02V3?taid=60763667b1963b00012b0bdb">the company’s reference price was set at a valuation just shy of $50 billion</a>. What gives? Well, direct listings are functionally different from IPOs. In an IPO, a company will traditionally issue new shares. This will dilute existing shareholders, make them sit in the corner for about 45 days before selling their shares and raise money for the company.Direct listings are just built differently. In a direct listing, a company will generally not issue new shares. Instead, they’ll let existing shareholders sell a certain amount of their stake in the company to people on public markets. In principle this sounds good, but the fact that existing shareholders are helping decide the price could mean that Coinbase’s valuation is already artificially higher. This could be a real problem for retail, according to SPAC legend Chamath Palihapitiya, <a href="https://twitter.com/chamath/status/1364960893952483331?s=20">who warned that direct listings seem “manipulative.”</a>In short: millions of shares will be sold on the market. It’s untold what value they will be sold at. But if the market eventually starts to believe that Coinbase is overvalued, it will be retail who is left holding the bag.</body></html>

In contrast, most other states that have yet passed a bill have introduced one. According to Goldman Sachs’ extremely <a href="https://www.casino.org/news/goldman-sachs-forecasts-massive-market-for-igaming-sports-betting/">bullish forecast for the online betting and gambling market</a>, the industry stands to grow 40% per year if the entire country stays the course to legalization. This would put sports betting on track to be a $39 billion industry by 2033.The biggest players might be the ones who have a vehicle to spread awareness of their brand far-and-wide. So, we’re breaking down the top four sports betting stocks that have the partnerships, attention and money on their side in attacking the U.S. market. 1. DraftKings ($DKNG)Arguably the largest, and most recognizable, sports betting stock is DraftKings. According to Roundhill Investments, the sports betting company<a href="https://www.roundhillinvestments.com/research/sportsbetting/sports-betting-market-leaders-by-state"> is the market leader in Indiana, West Virginia, Colorado, Oregon and New Hampshire</a>. Because of its size, it’s no surprise that DraftKings has picked up some of the most high-profile sponsorships. In September 2020, the company <a href="https://sporttechie.com/espn-expands-partnerships-with-draftkings-caesars">expanded an existing partnership with ESPN</a> that helped prominently feature the company during programming. In March of this year, the company unveiled <a href="https://www.thestreet.com/investing/draftkings-jumps-on-dish-network-partnership">a partnership with DISH Network ($DISH)</a> and<a href="https://www.marketwatch.com/story/draftkings-stock-surges-after-deal-to-be-ufcs-official-sportsbook-daily-fantasy-partner-2021-03-04"> became the official sportsbook of the UFC</a>. And that just scratches the surface of their business partnerships.In the last year, <a href="https://www.google.com/finance/quote/DKNG:NASDAQ?window=1Y">$DKNG has run over 328%</a> and collected buying interest from <a href="https://twitter.com/CathieDWood">Cathie Wood of ARK Invest</a>. As of April 9, <a href="https://cathiesark.com/ark-funds-combined/complete-holdings">DraftKings is 1.3% of ARK Invest’s total fund</a>.2. Flutter Entertainment ($FLTR.LN)Flutter Entertainment is a global sports betting and iGaming company. <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/justinbirnbaum/2020/12/03/flutters-42-billion-fanduel-purchase-is-a-high-cost-us-land-grab-and-its-worth-every-penny/?sh=12e910792d9b">Flutter owns 95% of the sports betting company FanDuel as of December 2020</a>. According to Roundhill Investments, they are <a href="https://www.roundhillinvestments.com/research/sportsbetting/sports-betting-market-leaders-by-state">the market leader in New Jersey and Pennsylvania</a>. In the last few months, FanDuel has become one of the biggest sportsbooks in America by volume. This has encouraged Flutter to consider spinning off FanDuel as its own company. Before that happens, the company will have to settle a lawsuit filed against them by Fox Corp. ($FOXA), who is <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2021/04/06/fox-files-lawsuit-against-flutter-over-fanduel-ownership-stake.html">entitled to an option to buy nearly a fifth of the company</a>. In the last year, <a href="https://www.google.com/finance/quote/FLTR:LON?window=1Y">Flutter (which trades in the UK as $FLTR) has risen 105%</a>.3. Penn National Gaming ($PENN)A year ago, Penn National Gaming made <a href="https://public.com/bullish">our Bullish Rippers list</a> after announcing<a href="https://www.vox.com/recode/2020/1/29/21113130/barstool-sports-penn-national-deal-dave-portnoy-chernin"> their plan to buy 36% of Barstool Sports</a>. At the time, many might have been perplexed by the fact that a lesser-known casino and racetrack operator was buying the publisher. But a well-known brand in the sports sphere like Barstool makes it an excellent venue for hosting a sportsbook.In the year since then, Penn National Gaming has leveraged Barstool and the Barstool Sportsbook to <a href="https://www.google.com/finance/quote/PENN:NASDAQ?sa=X&amp;ved=2ahUKEwjJ9Zio_fHvAhULVs0KHYtwDGUQ3ecFMAB6BAgHEBo&amp;window=1Y">run over 635%</a>. <a href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/penn-national-gaming-stock-sp500-dave-portnoy-barstool-record-high-2021-3-1030206979">The company was added to the S&amp;P 500 in March</a>. This came even as <a href="https://www.sportspromedia.com/news/barstool-sports-penn-national-gaming-revenue-q4-2020">Penn reported a 23% drop in revenue in Q4</a> because of physical property closures due to COVID-19. Although Barstool Sportsbook is new, it might be one of the best positioned to take on the market.4. Bally’s Corporation ($BALY)A few months ago, <a href="https://variety.com/2019/tv/news/disney-fox-rsns-sinclair-1203203930/#:~:text=Disney%20has%20reached%20a%20deal,on%20Friday%2C%20per%20the%20Journal.">FOX announced</a> that they would be selling off their 21 regional sports networks to Sinclair Broadcast Group. The nearly $11 billion sale <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/media/450189-warren-sanders-booker-urge-review-of-sinclair-106b-acquisition-of-regional">collected political scrutiny</a> because <a href="https://www.vox.com/2018/4/3/17180020/sinclair-broadcast-group-conservative-trump-david-smith-local-news-tv-affiliate">Sinclair itself is a controversial company</a>. The sale eventually cleared, allowing Bally to <a href="https://www.sportico.com/business/sports-betting/2020/ballys-sinclair-naming-rights-1234616912/">acquire the naming rights to the networks in November 2020</a>. When they acquired the rights, they also offered a warrant to Sinclair to acquire a sizable stake of Bally’s. The news of the naming rights purchase caused <a href="https://www.google.com/finance/quote/BALY:NYSE?window=1Y">Bally’s to go on a monster run, doubling since November</a>.Bally’s operates a dozen casinos and racetrack locations throughout the United States. However, the company has not launched a mobile sportsbook in its own name yet. For now, they enlist the services of FanDuel at some of their physical casino locations. There are signs in the new Sinclair-Bally’s arrangement that point to that changing.The company <a href="https://investors.ballys.com/news/news-details/2021/Ballys-Corporation-Awarded-Temporary-Sports-Wagering-Permit-In-Virginia/default.aspx">received a temporary sports wagering permit in Virginia</a> in March, pending acceptance of similar licenses in at least a dozen other states. Bally’s is working backwards to get to consumers. However, having a major regional sports network in your name is probably a good starting point to getting there.Going Long on Sports BettingThough these four stocks are likely strong bets for capitalizing on the sports betting trend in the U.S, there are ways to capitalize on the industry globally. One way is buying an ETF like <a href="https://www.roundhillinvestments.com/etf/betz/">Roundhill Sports Betting &amp; iGaming ETF</a> ($BETZ) or <a href="https://www.vaneck.com/us/en/investments/gaming-etf-bjk">VanEck Vectors Gaming ETF</a> ($BJK). This is an easy way to gain access to an actively managed portfolio of sports betting companies like the ones above, including ones in international markets that might be more difficult to acquire.</body></html>

For the unfamiliar, Archegos was a family office that heavily levered up and made a handful of risky bets on stocks like Viacom, which started to slide mid-last week. After facing margin calls on their positions, Archegos was unable to provide extra cash, so the banks began selling off stocks on the fund’s behalf. Credit Suisse and Nomura took the biggest hit, with the Swiss bank reporting that it will lose an estimated $4.7 billion from the debacle.Dr. Parik’s Diagnosis: Whether it’s on Robinhood or an institutional fund, investors will literally lever up their portfolio and then get margin-called instead of going to therapy. Although retail sales aren’t expected to begin until 2022, it is now legal for New Yorkers to possess and smoke the sweet leaf, as long as they’re over the age of 21. Analysts estimate that the New York cannabis market could be <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2021/03/25/nyregion/ny-legalize-marijuana.html#:~:text=The%20cannabis%20market%20in%20New,York%20Medical%20Cannabis%20Industry%20Association.">worth as much as  $7 billion</a> once it’s fully established and regulated. Dr. Parik’s Diagnosis: This is bullish news for weed #stonks, which, like smokers, should start to get higher if the industry takes off. The question arises whether legal weed will produce the same effects as illegal weed. Cannabis King Todd Harrison is back for another episode of Investing in Profit and Joy with Howard Lindzon. Last time Todd was on, he was predicting what a potential Biden win in the election would mean for the marijuana industry. Why Cannabis Was the Big Winner in 2020 Election

On today’s episode of “Cash Only,” we have a VIP guest to help us celebrate the holidaze: The one and only Tommy Chong sits down for an exclusive 4/20 interview. 

The comedian, director, and musician has been at the forefront of the cannabis movement for over 50 years, beginning with the cult-classic films he starred in alongside his partner-in-pot, Cheech Marin. The duo have undeniably earned their spots in the “Mount Rushmore of Weed,” and today both run legal cannabis brands in multiple states. 

Despite being in his 80s, Chong is busy as ever — quarantine be damned. On “Cash Only,” the titan of THC detailed some big news: Not only will Cheech and Chong’s official dispensary break ground soon, but Tommy is making a bong worth a million dollars that will also be minted as an NFT. 

This is a marijuana milestone: There are many celebrity weed brands out there, but Cheech and Chong’s brick-and-mortar shop will be one of the first major celebrity dispensaries. The soft opening is even happening today (4/20/21) in Palm Springs: https://bit.ly/2QbmbYo

On top of talking biz, Tommy Chong gets spiritual in this interview and discusses his ongoing relationship with religion, why the pandemic is eerily similar to the biblical story of Passover, and how he sometimes gets accused of preaching. The infamous cultivator Champelli essentially invented the model for how you could develop a cult-favorite cannabis brand in the illegal market. His weed was so good that it brought him into unbelievable situations with infamous artists right as the magic was happening, from studio sessions with Snoop Dogg and The Neptunes to P Diddy's Christmas party.

In this clip from Cash Only, the fabled green thumb gives our hosts the scoop on some of his legendary hip-hop encounters and tells them about a stash of Champelli seeds he salvaged before he went on the lam.

Welcome back to “Money Drama,” where our host Stock Will guides you through all the ups and downs, twists and turns of last week’s markets.

In a fresh episode, our host takes a deep dive into the ongoing controversy regarding the NCAA’s treatment of college athletes. The Supreme Court is currently deliberating on NCAA v. Alston, a landmark case that could forever change the business of sports and higher education. 

A quick primer: The NCAA prevents student athletes from receiving financial compensation or benefits outside of scholarships because it wants to “protect a tradition of amateurism in college sports.”

But both former and current athletes say this isn’t enough, and they should be eligible to receive unlimited benefits (as long as they’re tied to education). This could include school equipment like laptops and textbooks, or even funding for study abroad or post-graduation internships. 

The NCAA disagrees, and thinks changing its rules about compensation would make college sports more like a professional league. 

That said, if the NCAA is making billions of dollars thanks to college players, shouldn’t the actual athletes be entitled to something more than a scholarship? 

The issue has heated up so much that there’s now a hashtag #NotNCAAProperty trending on Twitter in support of the student athletes who feel exploited by the institution. 

Here, Stock Will highlights some of the most striking responses to the ongoing conflict, and explains if the takes are straight-up BULLSHIT or if they’re right on the money. 

The Supreme Court won’t make a decision for a couple months, but our host has some thoughts in the meantime…

Tesla & General Motors: These two U.S. automakers were the only two companies that maxed their quota under the last EV tax plan. When the companies built 200,000 cars, the rebates would no longer be available to new buyers. This bill pledges to change the quota, but to what extent is uncertain. Regardless, $TSLA and $GM are already arguably the two most popular EV producers. They stand to benefit the most.

Chargepoint: $CHPT is one of the oldest EV companies and has already jumped over 38% on the news around the infrastructure plan. The company boasts over 114,700 charging locations globally.

Volkswagen: $VWAGY plans to begin mass-producing electric vehicles next year. Whilst they’re not as technically competitive as $TSLA, they are still the biggest automaker in the world. The company owns Audi, Bugatti, Bentley, and others. They’re also owned by Porsche, which trades at a slight discount as $POAHY.

BMW: $BWMYY is another European automaker throwing their energy behind EVs. The company boasts an EV version of their MINI, a compact sedan called the BMW i3, and an electric SUV called the X3.
